The Sonora Wildcats scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Monday. They blew past Lathrop 78-47 at home. Sonora might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won four matchups by 20 points or more this season.
Sonora got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Noah Wright out in front who scored 18 points. The contest was Wright's third in a row with at least ten points. Jonathan Curran was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with five assists.
Lathrop lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Reniel Crisostomo, who scored 14 points. Another player making a difference was Robert Ellis, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds.
Even though they lost, Lathrop were working as a unit and finished the game with ten assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Sonora only racked up 23 assists.
Sonora pushed their record up to 4-7 with that win, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.5 points per game. As for Lathrop, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sonora will be home for the holidays to greet El Capitan at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Lathrop will be home for the holidays to greet Kimball at 7:30 p.m. on December 20th.
