After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Princeton, Spring Creek was happy to have turned things around on Monday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Wayne Preparatory Academy Generals a 16-0 shutout. The Gators might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four games by 11 runs or more this season.

Braden Bell was a standout: he scored two runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-3. He is becoming a predictor of Spring Creek's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is undefeated (and 1-7 when he doesn't). Nick Smith also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Spring Creek always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .562. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Spring Creek's win bumped their record up to 5-7. As for Wayne Preparatory Academy, their defeat was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-7.

Coming up, Spring Creek will welcome Eastern Wayne at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Gators are facing the Warriors at the right time seeing as the Warriors are stuck on a 13-game losing streak. As for Wayne Preparatory Academy, they will head out to take on Village Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Knights will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Generals surely won't give up without a fight.
