The Dade Christian Warriors will head out to face off against the Immaculata-La Salle Royal Lions at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
Dade Christian took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against American, sneaking past 8-6. The Warriors haven't had any issues with the Patriots recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.
Jadel Marrero looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than one hit in five consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Yenizon Reyes was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Yael Amador, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.
Dade Christian kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in March of 2024.
Meanwhile, Immaculata-La Salle entered their tilt with Goleman on Monday with five consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with six. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 7-6 W against the Gators.
Jeremy Fornos made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Fornos was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-4. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in February.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jonny Quintana, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Gianni Farach, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Immaculata-La Salle pushed their record up to 14-4 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Dade Christian, their record is now 11-12.
Thursday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Dade Christian has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .433. However, it's not like Immaculata-La Salle struggles in that department as they've averaged .485. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Dade Christian came out on top in a nail-biter against Immaculata-La Salle in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, sneaking past 7-6. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Warriors since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
