Softball Recap: Wayne Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Wayne had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. They walked away with a 13-9 win over the Waterloo Tigers. This was a revenge game for the Eagles: when they faced off against the Tigers on April 9th, they had to take a 18-5 defeat.

The team relied heavily on Zoe Eaton, who went 4-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. That home run was her first of the season. Kaitlyn Scheid was another key player, going 4-for-5 with three runs and two RBI.

Wayne always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .561. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Wayne's record now sits at 4-7. As for Waterloo, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-3.
