The Naples Golden Eagles suffered their biggest  defeat since December 5, 2023 on Monday. They ended up on the wrong side of a  rough 70-48 walloping at the hands of Lemon Bay. Naples was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at  44-14.
 When it comes to explaining why Naples lost, one person who can't be blamed is  Annika Andersen. Despite the final result, she  scored 19 points along with two  blocks. Another player making a difference was  Madison Hovey, who  scored nine points.
 Leading Lemon Bay to victory were  Maya Collins and  Mackenzie Long.  Collins  scored 21 points along with five  assists and three  steals, while  Long  scored 18 points along with six  rebounds and five  assists. Long continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last five games she's  played.  Myah Dickerson was another key contributor,  scoring eight points along with six  rebounds.
 Naples has  been struggling recently, as they've  lost four of their last five contests,  which put a noticeable dent in their 7-12 record this season. As for Lemon Bay, their win bumped their record up to 8-9.
 Naples on the road again  on Wednesday and play against Fort Myers at 7:00  p.m.  on January 17th. Fort Myers is coming into the  match on a five-game losing streak. As for Lemon Bay, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Riverview Sarasota at 7:00  p.m.  on Wednesday. Riverview Sarasota presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Lemon Bay in Florida (Riverview Sarasota is ranked 27th, while Lemon Bay is ranked 215th).
