Center Grove extended the longest winning streak in Metropolitan this week by beating Pike, 14-13. The victory was the fourth in a row for the team.
North Central took down Lawrence North 29-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Milton McClain ran for 118 yards and caught 3 passes for 27 yards during the win.
Demond Roberson was the best receiver in the league this week as the Panthers defeated the Wildcats. Roberson racked up 8 receptions for 62 yards. James Mitchell helped North Central's passing attack out by catching 4 balls for 33 yards.
Tyler Redfern put up the best numbers in passing as Lawrence Central fell to Carmel. He had a total of 18 completions for 98 yards. Redfern's favorite target this week was Kenny Jones, who caught 6 passes for 43 yards.
McClain was the most successful running back in the league this week. Teammate Michael Loggan added to the ground attack by rushing for 45 yards.
Leading Metropolitan in both passing and receiving yards, North Central's Loggan and Mitchell have proven to be a lethal combination. 6-5 quarterback Loggan has thrown for 521 yards this season, while Mitchell has 15 catches for 235 yards. Max Norris from Center Grove leads the league in rushing with 361 yards.
The most important game in the league this week will be the match up between Ben Davis and the Red Devils. The Giants enters the game ranked seventh in the state, while Pike ranks fifth.
Fans will be treated to a premier battle in the secondary when Keith Shelton's team's Mitchell goes up against Warren Central's MYKELTI WILLIAMS.
Next week's game between the Panthers and the Warriors will feature an aerial matchup as Loggan tests his arm against WILLIAMS's defensive ability.
