Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Southern to victory, but perhaps none more so than Gabrielle Tompkins, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds and five assists. Another player making a difference was Sidney Shaw, who scored eight points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Southern's victory bumped their record up to 8-5. As for Calvert, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-14.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Southern will take on the Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
