St. Georges Tech is 3-0 against Cape Henlopen since September of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Saturday. The St. Georges Tech Hawks will be playing at home against the Cape Henlopen Vikings at 12:00 p.m. St. Georges Tech is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak.
Last Friday, St. Georges Tech faced Smyrna in a battle between two of the state's top teams. St. Georges Tech fell 48-35 to Smyrna. St. Georges Tech has not had much luck with Smyrna recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 35-7, which was the final score in Cape Henlopen's tilt against Dover on Friday.
The losing side was boosted by Maurki James, who rushed for 189 yards. James is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last five games he's played.
St. Georges Tech has yet to win a game on the road this season, leaving them with a 2-7 record. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 8-1 Salesianum and 7-2 Sussex Central (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 63.9% over those games). As for Cape Henlopen, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-3.
St. Georges Tech beat Cape Henlopen 28-19 when the teams last played back in November of 2022. Will St. Georges Tech repeat their success, or does Cape Henlopen have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
