The Astoria/VIT Rebels's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They fell to Carrollton 57-51. Astoria/VIT has not had much luck with Carrollton recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Several Rebels players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ben Sherrod, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Nic Huston, who scored 15 points along with three steals.
Astoria/VIT has not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-9 record this season. As for Carrollton, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-9.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Beardstown the next time they take the court. Astoria/VIT will head out to face Beardstown at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, while Carrollton will head out to face them at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
