Hillcrest has been on the road for two straight, but on Tuesday they'll finally head home. They will take on the T.L. Hanna Yellow Jackets at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Hillcrest managed to keep up with Boiling Springs until halftime last Friday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Hillcrest was the victim of a tough 55-32 defeat at the hands of Boiling Springs. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss Hillcrest has suffered since December 1, 2023.
Despite their defeat, Hillcrest saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Alexia Fuller, who scored seven points along with 11 rebounds, was perhaps the best of all.
Meanwhile, T.L. Hanna lost to J.L. Mann on the road by a decisive 54-40 margin on Friday. While losing is never fun, T.L. Hanna can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 70th, while J.L. Mann is ranked sixth).
Hillcrest has not been sharp recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-10 record this season. As for T.L. Hanna, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-11.
Hillcrest was dealt a bruising 83-33 defeat at the hands of T.L. Hanna in their previous matchup back in February of 2023. The contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Hillcrest was down 44-16.
