The Santa Teresa Desert Warriors had to endure a ten-game losing streak dating back to last season, but that streak is no more. They secured a 22-16 W over Chaparral on Thursday. The win was just what Santa Teresa needed coming off of a 28-7 loss in their prior match.
Ulysses Montes was the offensive standout of the contest as he picked up 171 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Montes' longest reception was for an incredible 75 yards. Nicholas Vierra and his 80 yards on the ground were also a key factor in Santa Teresa's win.
Santa Teresa's win bumped their record up to 1-9. As for Chaparral, their defeat was their 19th straight at home (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 0-9.
Santa Teresa does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Chaparral is also done with their season.
