The Landstown Eagles will head out on the road to face off against the Ocean Lakes Dolphins at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Landstown is hoping to put an end to a ten-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
Landstown suffered their biggest defeat since December 12, 2023 on Friday. They had to suffer through a rough 51-20 loss at the hands of Green Run. While losing is never fun, Landstown can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 282nd, while Green Run is ranked 72nd).
Meanwhile, Ocean Lakes scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They breezed by Tallwood on the road to the tune of 71-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Ocean Lakes has posted yet this season.
Ocean Lakes found their leader in underclassman Samara Williams, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 21 rebounds. Allison Ragudo was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Landstown's defeat dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Ocean Lakes, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-7.
Landstown came up short against Ocean Lakes in their previous meeting back in November of 2023, falling 53-44. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Williams, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 19 rebounds.
