Leroy Elliott of West ran for the longest rushing play in Cook Inlet this season against Service last week. Elliott's team topped the Cougars as he sprinted for 80 yards on the play and finished with 97 in all.
West added to the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Service, 52-16. The victory was the fifth in a row for the team.
Tyrone Davis put up the best numbers in passing as the Eagles topped Kevin Kern's team. He had a total of 12 completions for 209 yards. Davis' favorite target this week was Elliott, who caught 6 passes for 144 yards.
West's offense cannot be tamed this season and the Eagles feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Davis has thrown for 783 yards this season, while Elliott has 27 catches for 587 yards.
The most important game in the league this week will be the match up between Bartlett and Chugiak. The Golden Bears comes into the matchup ranked 16th in the state, while the Mustangs ranks eighth.
Two of the top units in Cook Inlet will face off this week when West takes on South. The Eagles' offense has recorded 186 points this season, making them No. 1 in the league, while the Wolverines have permitted only 82 on the year.
Fans will be thrilled by an exciting game in the secondary when West's Elliott goes up against South's Alec Valdez.
