Basketball Recap: Peachtree Academy Takes a Loss

It was a proper cat-fight when Peachtree Academy duked it out withTrinity Christian School of Griffin on Monday. The Peachtree Academy Panthers received a blow as they fell 73-57 to the Trinity Christian School of Griffin LIONS. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

When it comes to explaining why Peachtree Academy lost, don't look at Julian Baluta. Despite the final result, he went 8 for 18 on his way to 27 points. The dominant performance gave Baluta a new career-high in points. Caleb Jackson was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Israel Lockridge continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Trinity Christian School of Griffin, going 8 of 11 on his way to 19 points in addition to seven boards and six assists. Lockridge is also crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least five every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Jeremiah Greene, who went 6 for 8 on his way to 14 points and four steals.

Peachtree Academy's loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Trinity Christian School of Griffin, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-2.

Peachtree Academy is facing New Creation Christian Academy at the right time seeing as New Creation Christian Academy is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Trinity Christian School of Griffin, they also won't have to wait long for more action: they'll challenge Konos Academy at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Konos Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.2 points per game this season.
