Franklin and Wells are an even 3-3 against one another since September of 2014, but not for long. The Franklin Quakers will be playing at home against the Wells Guardians at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the pair will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Friday, Franklin strolled past McDaniel with points to spare, taking the game 32-14.
Franklin got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Silas Combs out in front who threw for 185 yards and three touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes. Jay Sayre was another key contributor, rushing for 125 yards and a touchdown on only 13 carries.
Meanwhile, Wells had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 19 points), and they went ahead and made it seven on Friday. They blew past Roosevelt 36-8 on the road. The result was nothing new for Wells, who have now won five contests by 20 points or more so far this season.
Wyatt Andler was his usual excellent self, rushing for 156 yards and three touchdowns.
Franklin's win bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Wells, their win was their seventh straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 7-1.
Franklin took a serious blow against Wells in their previous matchup back in October of 2022, falling 58-28. Will Franklin have more luck at home instead of on the road?
