East Central is 0-4 against Wayne County since January of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The East Central Hornets will head out on the road to square off against the Wayne County War Eagles at 7:30 p.m. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: East Central has struggled recently with ten losses in a row, while Wayne County will arrive with six straight wins.
Last Tuesday, East Central lost to Gautier on the road by a decisive 60-46 margin.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Cartavious Myers, who scored 11 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Porter Martin, who scored ten points.
Meanwhile, even though Laurel scored an imposing 62 points on Tuesday, Wayne County still came out on top. Wayne County took their game against Laurel 71-62. 71 seems to be a good number for Wayne County as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.
East Central bumped their record down to 2-12 with that loss, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Wayne County, their win bumped their record up to 13-4.
East Central ended up a good deal behind Wayne County when the teams last played two weeks ago, losing 67-51. Can East Central avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
