Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask The Meadows School). They blew past the Valley Vikings 27-11 on Thursday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Mustangs needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.
The team relied heavily on Kate Verdirame, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and four runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Audrey Bernhard, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs.
Verdirame wasn't the only one working in the hit department: The Meadows School kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 19 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
The victory snapped The Meadows School's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 5-7 record. As for Valley, they dropped their record down to 0-9 with the loss, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season.
