If the Warner Wildcats were riding high off their 47-25 takedown of the Horizon Prep Lions last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Warner took a 44-33 hit to the loss column at the hands of Ocean View Christian on Friday. Warner lost against Ocean View Christian in their previous head to head back in November of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 44-34 score last time.
Despite the defeat, Warner had strong showings from Anthony Porras , who dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 rebounds, and Angel Carachure , who scored 11 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Those 12 rebounds set a new season-high mark for him.
Warner now has a losing record at 8-9. As for Ocean View Christian, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Warner's road trip will continue as they head out to face Julian at 4:00 p.m. on January 9th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in California (Julian is ranked 1322nd, while Warner is ranked 1327th). As for Ocean View Christian, they will stay at home for another game and welcome Liberty Charter at 5:00 p.m. on January 9th. Hopefully Liberty Charter focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up seven on Thursday.
