Despite their loss, Mt. Carmel saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Blaine Raagas, who went 5 of 8 en route to 12 points and six assists, was perhaps the best of all. Those six assists gave Raagas a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Tyler Humphrey, who posted nine points in addition to eight rebounds and three blocks.
Meanwhile, Mission Hills came tearing into Friday's matchup with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.8 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Panthers by a score of 54-46.
Mission Hills' win bumped their record up to 11-6. As for Mt. Carmel, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-13.
