Winning is just a little bit easier when your three-point shooting is a whole 20% better than the opposition, a fact the Schoolhouse Prep Wolfpack proved on Saturday. They secured a 41-37 W over Gulliver Prep. For Schoolhouse Prep, this counts as revenge for the 65-45 loss Gulliver Prep walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2020.
It was another big night for Adena Webster, who dropped a triple-double on 13 points, 16 rebounds, and ten assists. Webster is absolutely dominating the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Geontae Simpson, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds.
Despite the loss, Gulliver Prep still got an impressive performance from Nicole Quevedo, who scored 17 points. Caitlen Dauphin was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with eight rebounds.
The win got Schoolhouse Prep back to even at 8-8. As for Gulliver Prep, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-7 record this season.
Schoolhouse Prep will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against Academy for Innovative Education at 3:00 p.m. on January 29th. Academy for Innovative Education will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 529th, while Schoolhouse Prep is ranked 139th). As for Gulliver Prep, they will stay at home for another game and welcome Marathon at 5:00 p.m. on January 29th. Marathon will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
