San Fernando (Calif.) snapped
South East (South Gate, Calif.)'s 5-game winning streak, with a 24-13 victory on Saturday.
The Tigers were up 21-7 at the half after taking the lead on a touchdown pass by
Cris Solano to
Daemon Thompson in the first quarter.
San Fernando expanded its lead to 17 points entering the fourth quarter. SF scored once in the quarter on a field goal by
Louie De La Cruz.
Joshua Gonzales played well for the Jaguars. The junior quarterback ran for one touchdown. His performance brought his touchdown total to four on the year.
Thompson stood out for the Tigers in the win. The senior halfback ran for one touchdown and caught one touchdown. He has now scored 26 touchdowns on the season.
San Fernando had given up an average of 17.6 points prior to the contest. South East's 13 points were well below its season average of 39.8 per game.
The loss comes after South East defeated Lincoln 42-7 last week. With the win SF extended its winning streak to three games.
