Baseball Game Preview: Pace Vikings vs. Rivera Raiders

For the second straight game, Pace will face off against Rivera. The Vikings will be playing at home against the Raiders at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Pace fell victim to Rivera and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They came up short against the Raiders, falling 10-0. The Vikings have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

For Rivera's part, Marcos Guerrero made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. Guerrero has been consistent : he hasn't given up a single earned run in eight consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (three).

In other batting news, Andres Rocha was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2. Another player making a difference was Gilbert Moreno, who scored two runs and stole a base.

Rivera hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in five consecutive matchups.

Rivera has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 14 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.1 runs on average over those games. As for Pace, their loss dropped their record down to 3-15.
