The Lightridge Bolts will face off against the Potomac Falls Panthers at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Lightridge has 14 straight victories, Potomac Falls has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
On Friday, Lightridge got the win against Battlefield by a conclusive 12-1. The Bolts might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by six runs or more this season.

Karissa Bowes tossed a big game, striking out eight batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and not a single walk). Those eight strikeouts gave her a new career-high.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Larissa Azurin, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Avery Sullivan, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI and one double.
Lightridge hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Battlefield struck out eight times.
Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Potomac Falls' offense. They came up short against Riverside on Tuesday, falling 9-0.
Lightridge pushed their record up to 14-0 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for Potomac Falls, they now have a losing record of 6-7.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Tuesday. Lightridge hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.9 home runs per game. However, it's not like Potomac Falls struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.5 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Lightridge took their win against Potomac Falls when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 10-0 score. Will the Bolts repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
