The Victory Christian Lions have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six games by 29 points or more this season. They claimed a resounding 66-30 win over St. Bernard Prep at home. The win was just what Victory Christian needed coming off of a 76-47 loss in their prior match.
Leading Victory Christian to victory were Shepard Sargent and Peyton Scott. Sargent almost dropped a triple-double on 13 points, nine assists, and 12 steals, while Scott scored 26 points along with nine rebounds and six steals. The matchup was Scott's 14th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Caden Brunson, who scored 11 points along with nine rebounds.
Victory Christian now has a winning record of 8-7. As for St. Bernard Prep, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-8.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Victory Christian and Coosa Christian will face off at 3:30 p.m. on December 18th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. St. Bernard Prep will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Meek at 6:45 p.m. on January 8, 2024.
