Softball Recap: Margaretta Has No Trouble Against Toledo Christian

Margaretta saw some tournament action on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Toledo Christian Eagles as they made off with a 15-5 win.

Margaretta let Lucy Edwards and Elianna Young run wild. Edwards went 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple, while Young went 2-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. Those three RBI gave Edwards a new career-high. Brooke Hastings was another key player, going 2-for-3 with four RBI.

Margaretta's victory bumped their record up to 6-13. As for Toledo Christian, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-10.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Margaretta will head out to take on Sandusky at 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday. The Polar Bears' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Blue Streaks have averaged an impressive 7.2 runs per game this season. As for Toledo Christian, they are taking a road trip to square off against Lakota at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Eagles' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Raiders have averaged an impressive 7.9 runs per game this season.
