Conemaugh Valley had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8 runs) and they went ahead and made it seven on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Northern Cambria Colts as they made off with a 12-2 win. Considering the Blue Jays have won eight matches by more than seven runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Laine Poborski made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched six innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one run.

In other batting news, Conemaugh Valley let Katie Ledwich and Kylee Ferguson run wild. Ledwich went 2-for-4 with one home run and four RBI, while Ferguson went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Megan Bilak was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one home run.

Conemaugh Valley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .516. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Northern Cambria only posted an OBP of .208.

Conemaugh Valley's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-5. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Northern Cambria, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season.

Conemaugh Valley will square off against West Shamokin at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The Wolves' pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so the Blue Jays' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Northern Cambria, they have already played their next contest, an 18-8 victory against Blacklick Valley on the 9th.
