Cherokee is a perfect 3-0 against Kingsway since April of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Chiefs will host the Dragons. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Cherokee 2, Kingsway 2.5) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Cherokee is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Howell a 10-0 shutout. Considering the Chiefs have won 13 games by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Not much got past Brett Gable, who gave up just a hit and racked up 11 Ks to keep Howell off the board. Gable has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Alex Odud was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and two runs. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since May 3rd. Another player making a difference was Brett Jackson, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.
They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Cherokee lost a few balls and finished the game with four home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Kingsway came tearing into Thursday's match with nine straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Chargers by a score of 5-1.
Nate Ford spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on two hits and racked up seven Ks.
At the plate, Kingsway saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ryan Gollon, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Kyle Shields was another, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one run and one double.
Kingsway's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 21-6-1. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Cherokee, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 23-3.
Cherokee beat Kingsway 7-2 when the teams last played back in May of 2023. Will the Chiefs repeat their success, or do the Dragons have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
