Riverside Prep's success was spearheaded by the efforts of James Macey, who scored 12 points along with 8 rebounds and 7 steals, and Raoul Churchill, who scored 23 points along with 7 rebounds and 4 steals. The contest was Macey's seventh in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Keion Jordan, who scored 7 points along with 5 steals.
Meanwhile, Palm Desert entered their tilt with Calexico with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Palm Desert came out on top against Calexico by a score of 58-47 on Friday. Given Palm Desert's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 154th, while Calexico is ranked 497th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Coby Christensen , who scored 29 points. That makes it two consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Palm Desert's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kamrynn Nathan, who scored 10 points.
Riverside Prep has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 4-7 record this season. As for Palm Desert, they pushed their record up to 8-2 with that victory, which was their third straight at home.
