After four games on the road, Riverside is heading back home. They will finish 2023 at home by hosting the Point Pleasant Big Blacks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Riverside is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Point Pleasant in West Virginia (Riverside is ranked 96th, while Point Pleasant is ranked 462nd).
Last Saturday, Riverside came up short against Sissonville and fell 55-48.
Meanwhile, Point Pleasant scored the most points they've had all season to find success last Tuesday. They came out on top against Ripley by a score of 61-54. The high flying offensive effort was a huge turnaround for Point Pleasant considering their 25-point performance the match before.
Josh Chapman was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 20 points and 12 rebounds. That's the first time this season that he pulled down eight or more rebounds. Trevon McMillan was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with three steals.
Riverside's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Point Pleasant, their win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-2.
