The Elko Indians entered their tilt with the Truckee Wolverines with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Elko blew past Truckee, posting a 68-25 win at home. That looming 68-25 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Elko yet this season.
Josiah Tinkorang continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 16 points along with nine rebounds. That's the first time this season that he scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Preston Chamberlin, who scored nine points along with eight rebounds and four steals.
Elko's victory bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Truckee, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-11.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Elko will take on Virgin Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Virgin Valley knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past four games -- so hopefully Elko likes a good challenge. Truckee will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Sparks at 6:00 p.m. on January 10, 2024.
