Softball Recap: Bellbrook Has No Trouble Against Valley View

Bellbrook won the last time they faced Valley View and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Golden Eagles put the hurt on the Spartans with a sharp 16-4 win. Considering the Golden Eagles have won six matches by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Abigail Hebrank (2028) made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 14 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits (and only one walk). Hebrank (2028) was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with three runs, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Cheyenne Duhl (2025) was incredible, going 2-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. What's more, she posted two RBI, the most she's had over her last 12 contests. Heidi Pummell (2027) was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two runs.

Bellbrook always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .533. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Valley View only posted an OBP of .269.

Bellbrook now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Valley View, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-8-1 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bellbrook will host Ross at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Rams' pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so the Golden Eagles' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Valley View, they will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Oakwood at 5:00 p.m. The Spartans are facing the Lumberjacks at the right time seeing as the Lumberjacks are stuck on a six-game losing streak.
