Basketball Recap: Arvin Extends Winning Streak to Five

Arvin won the last time they faced Farmersville and things went their way on Friday too. The Arvin Bears were the clear victor by a 53-32 margin over the Farmersville Aztecs. The Bears have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight contests by 21 points or more this season.

Arvin was led to victory by Xzavier Pierson-Brooks and Miguel Damian. Pierson-Brooks almost dropped a double-double on 19 points and nine boards, while Damian dropped a double-double on 18 points and 16 boards. Pierson-Brooks has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last five times he's played. Aziz Ochoa was another key player, putting up seven points and six rebounds.

The victory was the fifth in a row for Arvin, bringing their record for this year to 10-3. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 33 points. As for Farmersville, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-6 record this season.

Arvin and Caruthers will face off at 8:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. Caruthers has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Farmersville, they will challenge Granite Hills at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
