The Pickett County Bobcats entered their tilt with the Clarkrange Buffaloes with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. Pickett County blew past Clarkrange 82-52 on the road. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 50-26.
Jacob Amonett was his usual excellent self, scoring 41 points along with six assists and six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Gage Harris, who scored 15 points.
Clarkrange lost on Saturday despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jack Cordell, who scored 19 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Kristopher Beaty was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with two steals.
Pickett County has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season. As for Clarkrange, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-15 record this season.
Pickett County will take on Red Boiling Springs at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Red Boiling Springs will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Tennessee Rankings (they are ranked 246th, while Pickett County is ranked 98th). As for Clarkrange, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Van Buren County at 6:00 p.m. Van Buren County is no doubt hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
