There's no place like home for the Parkersburg Big Reds, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road on Saturday. They simply couldn't be stopped on Monday as they easily beat Ripley 72-40 at home. For Parkersburg, this counts as revenge for the 62-52 loss Ripley walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2022.
Parkersburg was led to victory by Sophie Lott and Trinity Balog. Lott scored 19 points along with three steals, while Balog scored 30 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Balog has scored at least 25% of Parkersburg's points. Another player making a difference was Audriana Medina, who scored eight points.
Ripley's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Abigail Eastman, who scored 11 points along with nine rebounds and six assists. Sophie Nichols was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds.
Parkersburg's victory was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-1. As for Ripley, they now have a losing record at 1-2.
Parkersburg will head out on the road to face off against Huntington at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Ripley, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Ravenswood at 7:00 p.m. Ravenswood has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 315 points over their last five matchups.
