The Buena Colts will challenge the Flowing Wells Caballeros at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
The home team had come away the winner the last seven times Buena and Desert View had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Colts walked away with a 10-5 victory over the Jaguars on Thursday. The game was the first time the Colts have beaten the Jaguars on their field since April 13, 2021.
Ariella Antemann was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She pitched seven innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off six hits. Antemann was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.

In other batting news, Buena let Yanissa Long and Hailey Larson run wild. Long went 3-for-5 with three RBI and two runs, while Larson went 3-for-5 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Larson is on a roll when it comes to hits, as she's now got three or more in each of the last three games she's played. Aryanna Garcia was another key player, going 3-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Flowing Wells hadn't done well against Pueblo recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Caballeros skirted past the Warriors 11-9. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Caballeros have posted since March 27th.
The team relied heavily on Brisiana Quevedo, who went 3-for-5 with two runs and one stolen base. Those three hits gave her a new career-high.
Flowing Wells was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. They are 4-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Buena pushed their record up to 7-18 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.3 runs over those games. As for Flowing Wells, their victory bumped their record up to 14-15.
