Baseball Recap: Bayside Wins Going Away Against Westwood

While Bayside didn't have the best season last year (they finished 10-14), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. Everything went their way against the Westwood Panthers on Friday as the Bayside Bears made off with a 10-0 victory. The Bears haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Austin Still looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

At the plate, Bayside let Ryan Ramroop and Alex Brzuchalski run wild. Ramroop scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-2, while Brzuchalski scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-2. What's more, Ramroop posted two hits, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. Jordan Whitlow also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Bayside's victory bumped their record up to 6-0. As for Westwood, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bayside will square off against Satellite at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Satellite will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Bayside surely won't give up without a fight. As for Westwood, they will face off against Centennial at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Centennial's pitching crew has only allowed 2.6 runs per game this season, so Westwood's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
