Basketball Recap: Londin Bailey and Deylen Whitaker Secure Win for Gaffney

Gaffney won the last time they faced Wade Hampton and things went their way on Friday too. Everything went the Gaffney Indians' way against the Wade Hampton Generals as the Gaffney Indians made off with a 79-53 win. The game was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Indians had established a 24 point advantage.

Leading Gaffney to victory were Deylen Whitaker and Londin Bailey. Whitaker went 5 of 9 on his way to 12 points in addition to eight rebounds and four steals, while Bailey posted ten points along with five boards and four steals. The dominant performance gave Whitaker a new career-high in steals. Another player making a difference was Kaleb Phillips, who earned 11 points and seven boards.

The victory made it two in a row for Gaffney and bumps their season record up to 6-12. As for Wade Hampton, they dropped their record down to 2-9 with the defeat, which was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Gaffney didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 64-54 win against Eastside on the 28th. As for Wade Hampton, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 94-56 loss against James F. Byrnes on the 28th.
