The Taft Toreadors''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They took a serious blow against Chatsworth, falling 55-21. Taft was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Chatsworth apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2022.
Several Toreadors players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Devon Conroy, who rushed for 108 yards on only eight carries, and also threw for 194 yards and two touchdowns. Ledgend Wilson was in the mix as well, providing Taft with two touchdowns.
Taft's loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 2-7. As for Chatsworth, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-6.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Taft will challenge Birmingham at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Birmingham is coming into the game hot, having won their last four games. As for Chatsworth, they will head out on the road to face off against Granada Hills Charter at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Granada Hills Charter is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
