Lyford waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They walked away with a 10-5 victory over the Raymondville Bearkats. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-2 back in March.
Riley Reyna was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Gael Silva was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four runs, and three RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in May of 2024. Diego Medina was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Lyford pushed their record up to 19-8 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.3 runs over those games. As for Raymondville, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-10.
