Landon Kalsbeck Tops All Others This Week
Starting off the list is Dakota Ridge's Landon Kalsbeck, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. Kalsbeck rushed for 118 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.4 yards per carry. He didn't just play on offense: he also picked up a sack and made five total tackles.
The win got Dakota Ridge back to even at 1-1. Kalsbeck and Dakota Ridge will challenge Mesa Ridge at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

Crew Gerig Goes Supernova in Highlands Ranch Win
Crew Gerig continued his hot streak on Thursday by dropping his third-straight game with (dating back to last season) with at least three passing touchdowns. He threw for 193 yards and four touchdowns while completing 85.7% of his passes, and also punched in a rushing score.
Highlands Ranch's win ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-1. Gerig and Highlands Ranch will have plenty of time to enjoy the victory as they don't play again for a while. They'll take on Thomas Jefferson at 7:00 p.m. on September 20th.

Luke Bakken Has Career-Day on Thursday
Luke Bakken posted a new career-high in rushing yards on Thursday. He rushed for 105 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries. He also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, picking up a sack and making seven total tackles (1.0 for loss).
For the season, Bakken has run in two touchdowns while averaging 77.3 rushing yards per game. He's made a big improvement compared to last season: at this point last year, he was only averaging 38 rushing yards per game.

Wilson Posts Huge Game in 35-34 Victory
Bear Creek found a leader in Riley Wilson as the team took down Skyline on Thursday. Nobody could stop Wilson as he rushed for 83 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 137 yards and a touchdown.
The win made it two in a row for Bear Creek and bumps their season record up to 2-0. Wilson and Bear Creek will square off against Standley Lake at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.

Tanner Terch Put Up Big Numbers Against Arapahoe (Again)
Rounding off our Top Five is Tanner Terch of Heritage. Terch picked up 98 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Considering he played a big game the last time he faced off against Arapahoe on Saturday, the result shouldn't come as too huge a shock. The bulk of thosereceiving yards came from one huge play: a catch that gained an incredible 60 yards.
Heritage's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 1-1. Terch and Heritage will welcome Northfield at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
