The Orrville Red Riders will take on the Chippewa Chipps at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Orrville will be strutting in after a win while Chippewa will be coming in after a loss.
On Tuesday, Orrville beat Manchester 3-1. The victory continues a trend for the Red Riders in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now won five in a row.
Orrville had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 19-25, 25-15, 25-14, 25-15.

Zyah Handwerk and Hannah Croskey were among the main playmakers for Orrville as the former had eight digs and three aces and the latter had 11 digs and four aces. Croskey is also crushing it when it comes to assists: she's posted at least 15 every time she's taken the court this season.
They weren't the only good servers: Orrville was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 11 aces. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their ace total in three consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Chippewa came up short against Rittman on Wednesday and fell 3-1. The Chipps have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.
While Chippewa had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 18 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 18-25, 25-23, 25-18.
Orrville's win bumped their record up to 12-8. As for Chippewa, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-9.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Thursday's contest: Orrville has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 6.7 aces per game. However, it's not like Chippewa struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 8.3 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
