The Brooke Point Black Hawks's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their third straight loss. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 57-33 walloping at the hands of North Stafford. When it comes to explaining why Brooke Point lost, one person who can't be blamed is Danayja Cranford. Despite the final result, she scored six points.
Destinee Salgado continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for North Stafford, dropping a double-double on 15 points and 13 rebounds. Salgado is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. Daysha Salgado was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with eight rebounds and four blocks.
Brooke Point has not been sharp recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-10 record this season. As for North Stafford, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-7.
Brooke Point won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Stafford at 5:00 p.m. on January 23rd. Stafford comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 25 points in their last four games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. As for North Stafford, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Riverbend at 6:30 p.m. Hopefully Riverbend focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine on Tuesday.
