Wilmington Charter has gone a perfect 6-0 against Tatnall recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Force will venture away from home to take on the Hornets at 4:00 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Having struggled with four losses in a row, Wilmington Charter turned things around against MOT Charter on Monday. They came out on top against the Mustangs by a score of 9-5.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Tatnall). They blew past Delcastle Technical 13-3 on Saturday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Hornets needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.
Jacob Glazier was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over four innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Tatnall is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 3-10-1 otherwise. Glazier was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with three runs.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jonathan Veghte, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Tatnall is 3-0-1 when Veghte posts two or more runs, but 2-11 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Ellis Jarrett, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Tatnall always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .588. The last time their OBP was this high was was before the start of last season.
Tatnall is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-11-1 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.5 runs over those games. As for Wilmington Charter, their record now sits at 4-14.
Wilmington Charter was able to grind out a solid victory over Tatnall in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, winning 7-4. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Force since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
