The Hunter Wolverines were the 49-43 winner over the Taylorsville Warriors when they last played one another on January 12th, but their luck changed this time around. Hunter took a hard 68-50 fall against the Warriors on Tuesday. Hunter has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Hunter's loss came despite strong showings from Grace Gallagher and Kalysa Ng. Gallagher dropped a double-double on 12 points and 13 rebounds, while Ng scored 21 points along with four steals. Gallagher hasn't dropped below 11 rebounds for 11 straight games. Another player making a difference was Naia Makakona, who scored nine points along with two steals.
Ella Wolfgramm was nothing short of spectacular for Taylorsville: she dropped a double-double on 29 points and 14 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Wolfgramm has scored all season. Jenna Sterzer was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 12 points and 16 rebounds.
Hunter's defeat dropped their record down to 8-11. As for Taylorsville, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-8.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Kearns the next time they take the court. Hunter will head out to face the Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Warriors will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
