For the first time this season, Brentwood School will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will head out to take on the Viewpoint Patriots at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. Brentwood School fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Marymount back in March but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 22-18 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Sailors. The Eagles have struggled against the Sailors recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.
Meanwhile, Viewpoint entered their tilt with Crossroads on Tuesday with four consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with five. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Roadrunners a 22-0 shutout. The Patriots' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Skylar Meehan made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meehan was also big at the plate, going 3-for-5 with four RBI and one run.
In other batting news, Viewpoint got a massive performance out of Anniston Aragon, who went 3-for-4 with four runs, four RBI, and one triple. That's the most RBI Aragon has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Gwyneth Lewis, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, five runs, and two RBI.
Viewpoint always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .674. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Viewpoint's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-1. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.3 runs on average over those games. As for Brentwood School, their loss dropped their record down to 1-4.
Brentwood School suffered a grim 19-0 defeat to Viewpoint in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
