The Crofton Warriors will venture away from home to take on Wausa/Osmond at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.
Crofton is headed into the contest after thoroughly thrashing Niobrara/Verdigre: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Warriors blew the Cougars out of the water with a 66-20 final score. The Warriors pushed the score to 60-20 by the end of the third, a deficit the Cougars had no chance of recovering from.

Tyson Jackson produced another solid performance rushing for 180 yards and five TDs on only eight carries. Jackson is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 143 every time he's taken the field this season. Another player making a difference was Grant Jordan, who gained 139 total yards and a touchdown.
Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Crofton proved: they limited Niobrara/Verdigre to a paltry 2.2 yards per carry. The team can thank Jordan for the heroic effort on defense: he. Crofton didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 11.
Meanwhile, Wausa/Osmond put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Hartington-Newcastle 50-24. Given Wausa/Osmond's advantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska football rankings (they are ranked 14th, while Hartington-Newcastle is ranked 63rd) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.
Crofton better focus on containing Mac Carlson and Matthew Schindler as the pair were huge in Wausa/Osmond's win. Carlson rushed for 152 yards and three touchdowns on only 12 carries, while Schindler rushed for 121 yards and a pair of scores on only 15 carries. That's the most rushing yards Carlson has posted since back in August of 2024.
Crofton's record is now 4-2. As for Wausa/Osmond, their record now sits at 6-0.
Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Crofton has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 314.5 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Wausa/Osmond struggles in that department as they've been averaging 257.2 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's game turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Everything came up roses for Crofton against Wausa/Osmond when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 54-6 victory. In that contest, the Warriors amassed a halftime lead of 46-0, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
