7A District 10 recap Oct. 9, 2012
Manatee extended the longest winning streak in 7A District 10 this week by beating Braden River, 56-0. The victory was the fifth in a row for the team.
Manatee took down the Pirates 56-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Josh Meyer threw for 65 yards and one touchdown and ran for 25 yards in the win.
Joe Kinnan's team's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. On the ground Kelvin Mcknight chipped in 49 yards. John Cucci helped Manatee's passing attack out by catching one ball for 28 yards.
Darryl Brookins was the best wideout in the league this week as the Hurricanes topped Braden River. Brookins racked up one reception for 37 yards.
Manatee's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Hurricanes feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Cord Sandberg has thrown for 988 yards and 11 touchdowns this season, while Marquel Hines has 13 catches for 284 yards. Trevon Walters leads the league in rushing with 408 yards.
Manatee led 7A District 10 in scoring this week after putting up 56 points on Curt Bradley's team. Meyer in the win.
