Woodland is 1-9 against the Hurricanes since December of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Woodland Wildcats will head out on the road to square off against the Cartersville Hurricanes at 8:00 p.m. Woodland is coming into the match on a six-game losing streak.
Woodland pushed their score all the way to 63 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They lost to Hiram at home by a decisive 81-63 margin. While losing is never fun, Woodland can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 403rd, while the Hornets are ranked 106th).
Meanwhile, things could have been worse for Cartersville, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 66-51 loss to the Catamounts on Tuesday.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Reed Ezell, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaden Baldwin, who scored 12 points.
Woodland dropped their record down to 7-14 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Cartersville, their loss dropped their record down to 9-12.
Woodland and the Hurricanes were neck-and-neck when the teams last played two weeks ago, but the Wildcats came up empty-handed after a 54-53 loss. Can Woodland avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
