Santee is 2-8 against Jefferson since February of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Santee Falcons will head out on the road to square off against the Jefferson Democrats at 4:30 p.m. The pair have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses for Santee and 13 for Jefferson.
Santee suffered their biggest defeat since November 15, 2023 on Monday. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 64-44 walloping at the hands of Los Angeles.
Santee's defeat came about despite a quality game from Emiliano Chavez, who scored 15 points. That's the first time this season that Chavez scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Israel Snowden, who scored eight points.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 107-27, which was the final score in Jefferson's tilt against Manual Arts on Wednesday. Jefferson was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 66-17.
Santee's loss dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Jefferson, their defeat was their sixth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 0-11.
Santee was able to grind out a solid win over Jefferson when the teams last played on January 10th, winning 53-41. The rematch might be a little tougher for Santee since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
