Even though the Eldon Mustangs have not done well against the Blair Oaks Falcons recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Eldon walked away with a 64-54 victory over Blair Oaks. Given Eldon's advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 124th, while Blair Oaks is ranked 326th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Sydney Halderman was her usual excellent self, scoring 23 points along with eight assists and six steals. She is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 15 or more in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Delaney Mcghay, who scored 20 points.
Eldon is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-9 record this season. As for Blair Oaks, they dropped their record down to 1-18 with that loss, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season.
Eldon will head out on the road to face off against Hallsville at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Blair Oaks, they will be playing at home against Versailles at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
